The Best Engagement Ring Trends of 2025
December 16, 2024 •Nadine Tacorian
Love doesn’t play it safe in 2025, and this year’s engagement ring trends follow suit. Couples are ditching the predictable and embracing the bold, the unique, and the deeply personal.
So what’s the overarching theme of 2025 engagement ring trends? Intentionality.
These sometimes unconventional design choices don’t adhere to a single design aesthetic, because couples aren’t following a formula. Instead, they’re writing their own, whether that means being intentional in selecting bespoke artisan textures, embracing an unconventionally geometric edge, or designing a piece from scratch.
Here are some of my personal favorite trends of 2025 that reflect this spirit of individuality and intention.
Artisan Rings
Obviously, cookie-cutter is out, and 2025 is about bespoke craftsmanship. Artisan rings almost always have a tactile twist; think hand-carved textures, intricate patterns, and finishes that beg you to look and admire them from up close.
Behind every TACORI design are artisans who have spent years honing time-honored techniques that infuse every piece with classic romance and intrigue. Take milgrain, for instance. Those impossibly delicate beads, as small as a half-millimeter, are hand-hewn along edges of a ring for a true artisan texture.
Three-Stone Rings
I’m a three-stone girl, and I love the modern, clean view of a three stone ring from the aerial perspective. With three focal points, three stone rings are also an excuse for more sparkle. These styles allow for more intricate diamond details even beneath the crown - think hidden halos (what we call a hidden bloom) and pinpoint diamond accents.
The other upside to a three stone ring is its versatility with diamond shapes. A classic round center flanked by pear-cut side stones? A harmonious blend of tradition and creativity. Three stone rings are a canvas of opportunity, and a masterclass in intentional design and personal choice.
Geometric Shapes
We’re trading soft curves for sharp edges. Geometric rings featuring Carré cut or baguette diamonds accents add a contemporary flair. These shapes are bold and have architectural lines, and I see these styles as a reflection of modern love: sharp, refined, and unapologetically distinctive.
Side note: geometric shapes are also showing up in fine jewelry preferences. In 2025, the TACORI Stilla Collection adds new styles that feature the edgy Carré cut.
Double (or Triple) Split Bands
Your band doesn’t only play the supporting role. Split bands add subtle complexity and character to your engagement ring. Alone, they create visual intrigue, but they also offer more surface area for intricate diamond detailing. In our new Founder’s styles, we split the band and formed an elegant, corset-inspired curve that frames the center stone.
No Guessing Games: Shopping Together
We’ve seen more and more couples shopping together, ensuring that their ring choices are aligned with their shared vision. This might make the engagement less of a surprise, but shopping as a team is more intentional. It opens the door for exploring wedding bands that complement the engagement ring. And just like marriage, shopping together is an exercise in collaboration and commitment.
Bonus Trend: Designing Your Engagement Ring Together
An engagement ring that you design - with those extra hidden details - is worthy of representing your unique bond. And years down the line, you’ll admire those hidden details not just as beautiful touches, but as choices that you made together. At TACORI, special orders are our specialty, and we encourage shoppers to explore making their own bespoke adjustments to our designs.
The Takeaway For 2025's Top Engagement Ring Trends
It’s the year of intentional love, and I’m here for it. Engagement ring trends are centered on authenticity, creativity, and collaboration. Which, in my opinion, is the way it should be. Your engagement ring should be a reflection of you
